Has your brain ever told you, “I’m not good enough.” “I can’t do that.” “I would love to do that, but they are already doing it. I don’t have anything better to offer.”
The list of thoughts like these go on and on. Trust me, I’ve been there! (And honestly am still there somedays.) But all of these thoughts that you have are simply your fight or flight response kicking in. Your brain doesn’t like change. Going out on a limb, starting a new business or adventure can be scary. Your brain will give you all the reasons you shouldn’t do it because it likes safety. Consistency.

If you were to ever give your big idea a try, you would feel like a huge imposter! Your brain would continue to give you 20,000 reasons why you arent good enough or why you shouldn’t do it.

But guess what? There is a way to stop those meanies from talking. A way to push pass the good kind of fear and take that leap. Here are 5 really good ones I’ve learned:
1. Tell the voice in your head “Silencio Bruno!” (Any Luca movie fans??) Essentially name the voice in your head and tell it to be quiet.
2. Take a deep breath and reframe the thought in a positive spin. This one takes a lot of time and focus.
3. Ask your brain other questions “Why not?” “What would happen?” “Compared to what?”
4. Take the thoughts in your brain and throw them on the ground. Then use your foot to squish the thought like an ant.
5. Find the facts. Is that a fact that you will fail? That you don’t have anything relevant to say? Or is that a story your brain is telling you?
Rewiring your brain to move past imposter syndrome takes practice. It takes time and probably never 100% fully goes away, but I know there are bigger and better things out there waiting for you. And I believe you can do it!
