Why Are Women So Hard On Themselves – We Really Should Stop It!

We women need to stop doing this. STOP IT. STOP IT. STOP IT.

Stop thinking we aren’t smart enough. Stop thinking we can’t do it. Stop thinking every little thing we did wrong. Stop thinking it’s all our fault.

At least for me, it’s so easy to dwell on the things I can’t do, the things that went wrong, the things I screwed up. But one day, my brain made a switch in the middle of staring at my fridge trying to figure out what to make for supper. I was mixing and matching all the leftovers we had making them into something new that my kids would actually eat.

I started to dwell on how many problems I have creatively solved. It was a shift from the negative to the positive and truly gave me a different perspective on all that us moms have to manage.

So think of how many schedules you have balanced. What solutions you have come up with for your kids to continue playing together. Think about the safe space you create for your children. Moms do that. Women do that. We women can truly do it all. Will it be the normal way or the easiest way to do it? Nope. Will we do it? Absolutely because women can do anything.

It’s something I try and engrain into my girls. I always tell them women can do anything. Will it be the most efficient? Nope. Will it be done like someone else does it? Nope. Will the job get done? Definitely!

Seriously, we women need to stop doubting ourselves and truly embrace our greatness. Stop thinking you can’t, you don’t, you won’t. STOP IT. Just think of the simple tasks you do effortlessly each day. Look at those adorable eyes that look up at you and believe that you are superwoman. Because they also know you CAN do it.

Welcome to Caring for Calves and Kids. I’m a 5th generation dairy farmer farming with my parents and husband while trying to raise 3 kids. Life is crazy, messy and so much fun! It’s hard to be a mom and sometimes even harder when you farm. So to ensure no one else feels alone I’m sharing my stories. Enjoy!
